Hello! We’re Elizabeth and Tim — two Minnesotans trying to see the world one weekend at a time.
We met in 2012 while working together at our college student newspaper, which sparked a mutual passion of writing and storytelling.
We got married in 2016, and have been fortunate to travel via standby, a perk of Tim’s job in the airline world, for the past few years.
Flying standby sounds like a glamorous life — and sometimes it is. More often, though, it’s wildly stressful and demands that you embrace the unexpected. Flights delay. Seats disappear. Plans change. Time is of the essence.
Sunny and Raining is all about seizing the beauty in the unexpected. Like a surprise downpour on a bluebird day, our standby travels are spontaneous and richly rewarding.
